Nathaniel's HouseMogadore, Ohio

This place runs on its community.

Nathaniel's House is run by Meg, in her spare time, alongside the horse barn she already runs day to day. Every session and every canvas here is paid for by people who decided this place should exist.

We are still finalising our nonprofit registration, so we are not asking for money yet. When that is done we will say so here, and whatever anyone wants to give, in whatever form, is genuinely appreciated. In the meantime there is plenty that helps and costs nothing.

Give online

Not open for gifts just yet.

We are still finalising our nonprofit registration, and until that is done we would rather not take your money. If you came here to give, thank you, genuinely. Please come back, or leave us your email and we will tell you when it is sorted.

When it opens, giving will go through Zeffy, which is free for nonprofits: no platform fees and no payment processing fees taken out of your donation. Zeffy asks donors for an optional tip to fund itself, and that tip is entirely voluntary. You can set it to zero without affecting your gift to us.

There will be a one-off and a monthly option. Monthly gifts are the most useful thing anybody does for us, because our costs don't arrive on an irregular schedule.

Giving in memory of someone

Many people give in someone's name: a birthday, an anniversary, or in place of flowers. That will be possible here once registration is finalised, and there will be a message field for the name.

If you would like us to acknowledge the gift to a family, tell us and we will make sure it is done properly. This is a house built around one boy's name; we understand exactly what you are asking us to hold.

Other ways

Not everything useful is money.

Hay, feed and bedding

The horses at the barn always need feed, hay and bedding. If you are in the hay business, or want to cover a load, we will gladly take that call.

Art and craft supplies

Canvases, acrylics, brushes, aprons, table covers. Workshops run on consumables and they go quickly.

Your time

Barn work, setting up a workshop, greeting people at the door, or teaching something you know.

Volunteer with us

Sponsor a session

Cover the cost of one workshop so that a family who could not otherwise afford a place can take one.

Talk to us

Run a support group session

If you have experience facilitating and would like to help host or run a session, tell us. This is worth as much as any gift.

Transparency

Where the money goes.

Details being confirmed

We are finalising the published details of our nonprofit registration, including our EIN and governing documents, and this section will carry them as soon as they are confirmed. If you need that information before you give (which is a completely reasonable thing to want), please ask us directly and we will send it to you.

What gifts cover
Art and craft materials; heat and light in the gathering room; and the insurance that lets us open the gate to the public. The horses and the barn are their own, separate operation. Gifts of feed and hay for them are always welcome, but aren't part of what Nathaniel's House itself spends.
Who runs it
Nathaniel's House is run by family and volunteers. See our story.
